About Us

PoodleMixes.org first went live on August 22, 2007. It was started because of my love for my two wonderful Chipoos, Lacey and Logan. Because of my passion for these dogs, I thought it would be great to create a place for others to share their stories, pictures and information with other dog lovers. I received many requests to allow other mixes besides just Poodle Mixes that is why DesignerMixes.org was created. From there our community has grown to include a site for Purebred Dogs as well. Above all I am a dog lover, no matter what Breed or Mix they may be.

Both of our sites are trying to promote information about Rescue and Adoption in hopes that more dogs will be rescued from shelters or better yet, never make it there in the first place. Feel free to browse our site to find information about the Breed or Mix you are looking for. If you already own a dog we would love to hear from you. You can submit your own information or owner testimonial to be included on our site. We greatly appreciate your contributions!

As part of our mission we are also trying to get the word out about Backyard Breeders and Puppy Mills. This is not just a problem with Mixed-Breed or Designer Dogs, this problem exists with Purebred Breeders as well. Lately many of these so-called breeders have been exploiting the 'Designer Dog Craze' to make a profit thus the huge explosion of backyard breeders and puppy mills. It is our hope that more people will do their research before getting a dog and do their part in stopping this inhumane and unfair treatment of dogs.

Along with my two Chipoos, Lacey and Logan I also have a German Shepherd mix named Lance that my husband and I adopted in October 2008. Along with my love for dogs, I also have a Masters Degree in Computer Science from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois that has allowed me to develop this site. I have personally developed the entire site myself and take great pride in my work. I truely enjoy seeing the pictures and reading the stories that are submitted.
